Mesh Networks Meet Margaritas @ Frog Design
To close out September I was invited to speak on mesh networking at Frog Design’s New York City office. Frog describes itself as a global innovation firm, creating work for clients like Apple, Disney, GE, Microsoft and many others.
For their staff, I explained the basic concepts behind device networking then showed some popular modern industrial examples like home health care and hotel management. Finally we talked about the future and I showed some innovative explorations ranging from robotic shepherds to networked pajamas. The host, Frog’s senior interaction designer Michael DelGaudio, created playful posters linking the layout concepts to the refreshments.
Next steps? We’re planning workshops in physical computing and device networking to engage Frog’s ingenuity and vision in furthering these explorations.

The attendees did this a bit, but of course people being people, and hungry, many went ahead and dug right in. Still, the poster was a terrific educational tool.
